The black & Decker elec broom is jst that. It,s fine for blowing dry grass and leaves off of hard surfaces. It was not designed as a yard leaf blower. If that,s what you need look elseware

We have a more powerful electric blower for the big jobs, but this is great for just cleaning up after mowing, or blowing off the patio when we're getting ready to barbeque. Love the cordless. So nice not to have to haul around the big one and deal with the cord, and it's light weight enough that you can even put the kids to work (good luck with that). So much more convenient, I find myself cleaning off the patio more often. Great for cleaning up hard surfaces, but probably not enough power for the leaves in flower beds. The battery doesn't have a terribly long life, so you do have to work fairly quickly if you're going all the way around the house after mowing. Good product for the price; works great for what we had in mind; just make sure you charge the battery after each use.

I got tired of sweeping and/or washing our large concrete patio, driveway and garage floor, so decided to try the B&D 18V battery powered sweeper. Yes, the battery does wear down in 10-15 minutes, but so what, I just ordered an extra battery and now have plenty of juice to do it all. This thing works great. I takes me about 10 to 15 minutes to do what used to take about an hour. I hear others complain about battery life but can't rate that yet as the sweeper is only a month old. So far I love it.

It worked really well and I had the pinwheels and stems from my maple trees plus grass clippings all over. I wanted to wait till I used this product for the first time. There was plenty of battery power so I won't have to order another battery, I wasn't sure how long the battery would last but there was no problem. I just love it. It is wonderful to blow off my patio, driveway, and front sidewalk without pulling a cord around. I know that I will be cleaning my areas more often now since I don't have to haul a cord around. I would recommend this product to anyone.

I had the previous version of this product with a built in hanger and battery charger. It broke because the plastic fan eventually failed after 4 years but in performed well,even when used for jobs greater than 15 minutes in duration. This model has good air force to move light debris like leaves or dry grass, however the battery does not maintain charge/power for much more than 15 minutes of relatively contineous use. Great for small or short duration jobs but don't rely on this machine for longer than 15 minutes of work.
